The wildflowers at Alta are here!
We got up early to go and hike before all the crowds and it was worth every moment of lost sleep. We parked at the Catherine Pass Trailhead and started hiking up to the Albion Meadows Trail and continued on all the way up to Cecret Lake. You can park at Cecret Lake's Parking lot, but it fills up super fast.
We saw two moose!
The flowers were unreal and as far as the eye could see.
We started our hike out by the Albion Meadows and headed up to Cecret Lake. There are many more parking spots (that fill up quickly) closer to the Cecret Lake Trailhead, but the best meadows we saw were lower down near the Albion Base Trailhead.
About halfway up the switchbacks to the lake, we had to check out this "cecret tunnel" :)
It was our first time to Cecret Lake. Apparently, Cecret Lake was spelled wrong because the miners didn't know how to spell very well.
We took the quick hike around the lake. The bluebells were insane on the far side!
We love taking our flower guides with us on hikes. Kids and basically anyone will love identifying plants.
You can't swim in Cecret Lake (it feeds into Salt Lake’s drinking water) but I'll admit, it took all that I had not to jump in!
The water was crystal clear and absolutely still.
Check out the UTAWESOME shirts that have hit the shop!
The wildflowers at Alta usually last the last two weeks of July.
The wildflowers won’t be here for long, so hurry and get there before they are gone!
We'd love to see your #UTAWESOME Wildflower photos!
