If you are any kind of a nature enthusiast, you probably know all about the bristlecone pines. Did you know, these are the oldest living organism on the planet?

You can hike right up to a grove of bristlecone pine on Cedar Mountain near Cedar Breaks National Monument.

This little trek is .6 miles round trip, semi-shady and for everybody. At the end of the hike you find yourself in the grove of trees on a deck. Please make sure to respect the trees and don't disturb them. If you look out to the distance you can see Zion National Park.

If you are interested in seeing more bristlecone pine groves, there are some at Bryce Canyon National Park here and at Great Basin National Park, just over the Nevada border.
